My first assignment as an environmental advisor was in the mid eighties with a consumer organisation, advising people in a rural area how to avoid generating hazardous waste.

My second assignment was in the mid nineties with a union-based organisation. I worked with shop-stewards mainly advising on EMAS (Environmental-Management and Audit Scheme) and ISO 14000. From 2001 onwards I work with the Cooperation Centre Hamburg in a project called CLEANTOOL, which deals with the imrpovement of metal cleaning processses in enterprises.
