Our own contribution to the protection of the environment
Transport
We drive a small car, consuming between 5 and 6 liters of petrol per 100 km. Klaus goes by bike to the station and boards a train from there to reach his place of work.
PowerWe consume "Green Power" from the Stadtwerke [Powerstation] Kiel. This offer is TÜV-certified and costs 3.5 Cents per kWh more than normal power. We save energy e.g. by using special lamps and by cutting off of standby-appliances from the mains when not in use. |

Worm compost
We put all our kitchens waste into a special worm compost drum (rat safe) in our garden, which is filled with a special type of earthworms. The produced compost is used as fertilizer. There is also a compost toilette in our small garden.
Household
We use environmetal safe agents and often buy bio produce.
Waste
We reuse packaging e.g. for yoghurt and we seperate the different types of waste.
